Who?

OXY Hotels is a premier hotel booking platform, renowned as Jharkhand's leading hospitality chain, offering both leased and franchised stays.

Worked on redesigning the entire dashboard experience (for the os of their hotel operations)to be clean and consistent, in both light and dark mode.

What are we fixing

We ran a ux audit to identify what was (and wasn’t) working. Interface issues-

  • tons of menus, nested menus

  • no data hierarchy

  • data heavy tables

  • need of digestible charts and visuals

  • unoptimized filters (for large data sets)

the single-level navbar was a major bottleneck

New vs old

Instead of stuffing all navbar items into a single list, we divided the navbar for hierarchy & clarity

grouped related actions under expandable sections

⬆️This is what we are working with

New vs old

Moved to making first layout draft for the main dashboard without much focus on visuals, colors, icons

  • restructured tables and lists

  • proper pagination

  • reducing unnecessary scrolling

No design system?

We weren't starting from absolute zero, we had base components we could build upon. For core elements like buttons, input fields, modals, and tables that could be adapted to our needs.

Why?

  • within the tight timeframe, we relied heavily on pre-made components for standard UI elements

Screens

Got to the designing stage

  • assembling components

  • introduced color-coded for booking statuses

  • zebra-striping better readability in large datasets/tables

  • redesigned graphs & visual data

  • multi-layer sorting

  • avoided pure black and used dark grays

Also designed fallback screens for no results, empty states, and user errors
